Powered Respirators
A powered air purifying respirator, or PAPR, uses a battery powered unit to draw air through a filter and deliver a constant flow of clean air to a hood, helmet, visor or headcover. Unlike tight fitting masks, a powered respirator has no breathing resistance, making it far more comfortable across a full shift, and its loose fit suits wearers with beards or glasses, or anyone who fails a face fit test on a disposable, half or full face mask.
Several of our powered respirators combine respiratory protection with head, eye, face and hearing protection in a single unit, useful where a job needs more than one type of protection at once.
When choosing a kit, consider battery life, airflow speed settings, USB-C charging and EN166 impact rated visors, alongside ongoing filters and pre-filters. We also offer PAPR servicing to keep units running reliably over years of use. For expert advice on the right powered respirator contact us at Safetyandcommssales@sunbeltrentals.co.uk
