Filters

A respirator only performs as well as the filter fitted to it. Filters are consumable items that need regular replacement, and choosing the right one for your mask and hazard matters just as much as choosing the mask itself.

In plain terms, P3 filters handle fine particulates such as dust, mist and fumes, A2 filters handle organic gases and vapours, and ABEK1 filters cover a broad range of gases and vapours. Combined filters, such as A2P3 and ABEK1P3, deal with both at once. Pre-filters sit in front of the main filter, capturing large particles to extend its life, and should be changed daily on powered respirators, where airflow makes them work harder.
