Face Fit Testing Equipment

Face fit testing checks that a tight fitting mask, whether a disposable FFP, half mask or full face mask, forms an effective seal on an individual wearer, since even a tiny gap around the face lets contaminated air bypass the filter. Under COSHH, every wearer of tight fitting RPE must be fit tested before relying on the mask at work, and again if their face shape changes or a different mask is issued. There are two accepted methods: qualitative, a pass or fail test based on taste or smell, and quantitative, which uses an instrument to produce a numeric fit factor.

Sunbelt Sales stocks both quantitative and qualitative face fit testing equipment and kits.

Not sure which method suits your workforce? Contact us as at Safetyandcommssales@sunbeltrentals.co.uk and our team can walk through quantitative versus qualitative testing for your risk assessment.
