Privately owned since 2001, Abtus operates from a purpose-built 13,000 sq/ft facility in Haverhill, Suffolk. Our strategic location places us just 30 minutes from Cambridge and 90 minutes from London, ensuring easy accessibility for our clients and partners.
Our dedicated workforce consists of 37 highly skilled employees, many of whom have been with us for over 15 years. We are proud to have our longest-serving employee with us for over 50 years, reflecting our commitment to a supportive and enduring work environment.

The Abtus 5650 RouteScan is designed to provide fast, accurate structure clearance measurements relative to the Permanent Way through the use of 2D laser scanning.
This laser height and stagger gauge gives the user the ability to log and store data directly to an android or apple device and features a built-in GPS system.
Accurate relative (transfer) – Levels from ±1mm from 1700mm to 2800mm
True horizontal measurements – 6ft/10ft measurements
Fully non-conductive – Allowing measurements over 3rd/4th conductor rails
Relative level readings – –300mm to +175mm without the need to turn or reset the gauge
Rail gauge to measure the height and stagger of the overhead line (OHL). This gauge utilises Hilti’s PD-E laser range metre for height measurements.
Measures dynamic void on rail tracks.
The ABT7100 Track Geometry Trolley records track gauge, cant, twist, gauge difference, gauge average and distance. It features GPS positioning as well as providing the user with the opportunity to flag track defects whilst recording.
